Terrequity Childrenís Foundation (TCF) is pleased to announce its most recent contribution to the York Region Abuse Program.
The York Region Abuse Program (YRAP) provides a unique and holistic approach to therapy for childhood sexual abuse survivors, including both children and adults.
The YRAP provides professionally facilitated individual and group therapy sessions, with some children using the service for between seven and nine months and others using the services for up to 18 months.
The therapy that YRAP offers assists childhood sexual abuse survivors and their families of all backgrounds and orientations with coping and problem solving skills, stress management, managing flashbacks and establishing boundaries along with developing knowledge of healthy sexuality.
Because of a lengthy waiting list, the YRAP focuses all of its fundraising on providing service to those on the waiting list.
The YRAP also focuses on the prevention of childhood sexual abuse as well as advocacy and education. It has served the York Region and surrounding areas where similar services arenít available for over 22 years.
The Terrequity Childrenís Foundation support will go directly towards therapy for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. TCF would like to thank Betty Ramsay for recommending that TCF support the York Region Abuse Program. Betty is actively involved with YRAP and sits on their committee. Being a survivor herself, YRAP is very personal to her
